Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in several Chinese provinces, killing more than 140 people.

Heavy rains wreaked havoc in several Chinese provinces, flooding railways, roads and bridges.

When more water storage was depleted, the spillways of the dams were opened, flooding several towns and villages, while boats began plying the roads and streets.

140 people were killed in different provinces while 22,000 houses and other houses were swept away in the floods.

The number of victims has crossed 30 million, of whom 17 million have been evacuated.
